22 Dec Carol Service, MD End of Year Message
Dear Colleagues and Trade Partners,
It is a great pleasure to interact with you this afternoon. Many of us have looked forward to such an occasion for a long time. I thank god that this year, we managed to pull it through.
I welcome you all to our maiden Carols and Thanksgiving Service. As the name suggests, we are here to celebrate the birth, life and mission of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and to thank him for all his goodness towards us as a business. We are also here to share fellowship as a family with a common destiny. This business is ours; we are in it together – we rise and fall together.
This year has been a very challenging one for Ghana. The dom-so-dom-so problem, depreciation of the Cedi, rising inflation, etc. have affected not just us but many businesses negatively. But in all these, the Lord has been good to us…and we have been good to ourselves also. I feel happy and proud that we never had any worker agitations this year. Well done everyone. This is the kind of industrial atmosphere I want us to create and have every year. And together, we can do that!
To our trade partners, I say a big thank you that you for being such a wonderful support to us over the years. But for you, we would not have been where we are now. I urge you to continue to support us in the years to come. We will also continue to listen to your concerns and address them appropriately.
From what we hear, the energy and economic challenges we face is likely to persist in 2015. What this means is that we need to be more creative and innovative in the way we do things. As I always say, we are not hired to do easy tasks. We are here to solve problems. I therefore believe in you to deliver. We will face all the challenges of 2015 and conquer them. In 2015, we will achieve and actually exceed our targets, we will grow our business and come a year this time, we will gather here again to celebrate and rejoice. The Lord is our helper!
On behalf of directors of Vlisco Group and my management team here in Ghana, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. May you and your families experience the joy and peace that the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ brought to mankind.
Kofi Boateng, GTP MD
